Freeman's Festival of Tasting, a cherished celebration of Germans-from-Russia heritage since 1959 and one of South Dakota's most distinctive cultural festivals. Traditional foods, sausage sales, craft demonstrations, heritage museum exhibits, and a community musical production on the Freeman Academy campus benefit Freeman Academy.
